Bergen: An Illustrated Map of Favorite Stops
I came home from Bergen with a suitcase full of secondhand knits, and the urge to paint the whole trip. So I did! This is my little watercolor map of the city, with every stop I loved enough to draw.
You’ll find the fish market, Bryggen’s wooden houses, a cinnamon bun from Kaffemisjonen, and yes, the Scream, for the KODE museums. Each icon is a real place I went, and the numbers match the key below the map.
How to use it
The stops are color-coded so you can find what you’re in the mood for:
See & Do (maroon): Bryggen at dinnertime, when it’s empty, Fløyen at sunset with a local beer, and a floating sauna with a cold plunge in the harbor
Eat & Drink (navy): Coffee and buns, hot dogs at Dogtails, chocolate at Fjåk, and a dinner at Michelin star Lysverket
Shop (camel): Arven for silver, Blekk for local art, and UFF and Modellstrikk for Norwegian knits
Stay (brown): Thon Bristol, central with a great breakfast
The map is meant to be a quick, visual way to plan a day. For the details (what to order, what to skip, and which day tour I wouldn’t book again), head to my full Bergen guide.
Save it for your trip, and tag me @adashingescape if you go. I’d love to see where you end up!
