My Carry-On Capsule Wardrobe for Norway & Sweden
Packing carry-on only for Scandinavia summer doesn't mean sacrificing style, it means packing smarter. This capsule is built around a neutral, tonal palette (camel, olive, black, navy, denim, cream) so almost everything mixes with everything else. Add a quilted jacket for wind, Birkenstocks and sneakers for miles of cobblestones and fjord trails, and a couple of "just in case" pieces for sauna day + a nicer dinner, and you've got a full week-plus of outfits from one small bag.

Why This Capsule Works for Scandinavia
One outerwear piece does it all. The quilted jacket is lightweight enough to layer over a tee on a mild day and warm enough over a sweater when the wind picks up off a fjord.
Three shoe styles, endless mileage. Sandals for warm city days + sauna experience, nice shoes for the one fancy dinner, sneakers for everything else. None take up much room, and all three go with every bottom in the capsule.
A tonal palette means no "orphan" pieces. Camel, olive, black, navy, denim, and cream all sit next to each other without effort, so nothing in the bag is a one-outfit-wonder.
Dresses pull double duty. The shirtdress works as daywear or a swim cover-up; the gingham midi goes from daytime to dinner with just a cardigan swap.

I bought a wool beanie in Bergen as a souvenir, and I wasn’t expecting to wear it on the trip, but I was glad I had it on the fjord cruise. The rain + wind combo is very chilly, even in peak summer.
